Good TV - But can it be called HD Ready? - 04 Jul 2007

The TV itself is as expected, people have already mentioned its usual faults but I wish to complain about its so-called HD-Ready properties. It has no HDMI input - which is the common connection type for top-brand HD products and no component video input. Instead it realies on an RGB and DVI-D input, which although can mantain a high-definition picture, they cannot play sound. Leaving you to have to fiddle about with cables for a while. Luckily most of the cables to get you connected to a HD device come in the box, but it is difficult to set these up - in addition, they provide no HDMI-DVI cable. So overall - if you're looking for a HD TV - Look elsewhere!

I bought this tv in sept 2006. Excellent quality, superb picture, great sound,some interference on the freeview. However, the remote is less than great. It has a slow response and more often than not will not work on the first press and you find yourself pressing and pressing to no avail. The menu is poor and always has gaps in the channel listings. Yes, I have changed the batteries.

I bought one of these, and wish I hadn't. The Digital freeview failed, and the set had to be collected and a part fitted. The serviceman said this was a common fault for this model. It went wrong a couple of more times, and Toshiba replaced the set. The new one had the same fault as the original model.

Came next working day. Took me a while to realise that there is an extra mains switch. Once sorted, the set up is easy. The picture settings need adjustment from factory default. I'm very pleased with the quality although I haven't explored all the functions yet.
